What if I didn't build the graph?

Today Essay 38 and six new Architecture Briefs went live on alanpruitt [.] com — documenting the semantic upgrade across my independent Open Educational Resource (OER) course fleet.

This wasn't a cosmetic RAG update.

It was a structural rebuild of how my Curriculum-as-Code pipeline handles clinical truth and bilingual voice.

In software documentation, flat Docs-as-Code works fine.

You slice pages into chunks, run cosine similarity, and return a paragraph.

In clinical kinesiology and nutrition along the Yuma, AZ and Imperial Valley, CA borderland, flat vectors fail.

When a student in San Luis Río Colorado or Yuma describes heat stress in Norteño Spanish — "se le bajó la presión en el calorón de Yuma" — a generic English index misses the clinical safety gate.

Relying on flat chunks and cloud chatbots would have been an easy shortcut, but it would have stripped away pedagogical lineage.

Drawing on my experience as an Adjunct Faculty member at Arizona Western College, Generative AI Strategist at The University of Arizona, and Principal of Webcognita LLC (VOSB), I architected my S-A-R Standard (Scalable / Auditable / Repeatable) v2.2 upgrade around four semantic layers:

3,151 curriculum vectors linked into a DOM GraphRAG hierarchy across The Clinical Framing Protocol (Pattern / Rule / Solve)

W3C SKOS ontologies mapping Norteño Spanish to Federal Single Sources of Truth (PAGA 2018, 2025–2030 DGA, ACSM 12th Ed., NASM OPT) — lifting retrieval from 0.7743 to 0.8236

W3C PROV-O cryptographic receipts proving SHA-256 lineage from federal guidelines to local output

By running air-gapped Google Gemini Argon 4 models locally on Apple Silicon (M1/M2), my Canvas GraphQL and Sovereign AI Auditing pipeline runs with zero cloud egress.

The technical guardrails transferred seamlessly with the graph:

Born-accessible — 4D XAI Radar Scorecard engineered to ADA Title II & Atomic WCAG 2.2 AA / 3.0 Higher Ed Architecture (9:1 contrast guard)

Research-first — Grounded strictly in federal clinical guidelines rather than probabilistic guessing

Privacy-aware — 100% FERPA privacy on local Apple Silicon hardware

Transparent — Scalable $0 ZTC bilingual "In Plain English" OER for borderland HSI communities

If you are building GraphRAG pipelines, sovereign edge AI, or bilingual OER, I want your critique.
